About the artist

Multimedia Artist Jill Michaels and her drummer husband Ed moved to Joshua Tree in 2016 and settled into a small house on 5 wild acres full of natural plant and animal life. Jill had already enjoyed a successful creative arts career that included selling her illustrations to Nordstrom’s in California, as well as to The Museum of American Folk Art in Lincoln Center, NY.

The spirited entrepreneur was energized by the region’s magical landscape and created a collection of colorful designs printed on postcards, magnets, canvas totes and a variety of items selling to shops in California.

The hi-desert artist
explains, “When you live among Jack Rabbits, Joshua trees, endless sunsets and funky old cars on a deserted mesa road, you never run out of inspiration.” Hence, Joshua Tree Art Company was born.
